Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer
As summer approaches, I’m on the lookout for new tasty beverages to try. One of my favorite summer drinks is lemonade and I love adding new flavors to it. The other day I made Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer and it was guzzled down so quickly by my family.
You can get fancy and make your own lemonade but I’m not really a fancy type of person and I like to take shortcuts so I used Simply Lemonade for my base. In addition to lemonade, you’ll need some blueberry simple syrup and club soda or sparkling water. I used a lemon flavored sparkling water.
Blueberry Simple Syrup Recipe
1/2 cup blueberries
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
Add blueberries, sugar and water to saucepan and cook on high heat for 5 minutes. reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Let stand 30 minutes until it cools to room temperature.
Fill glass with ice. Add 2 TBS syrup to each glass. Fill 3/4 full with lemonade and add a dash of sparkling water or club soda. Add some extra blueberries for garnish. This recipe makes 2 small glasses of Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer.
I just saw that the blueberries are ready for picking at our local berry farm so I’m excited to get out there with the kids and pick bucket-loads! My daughter said this was her new favorite drink. I can’t wait to try new lemonade flavors this summer.
