Whether it’s using power tools to build furniture or a putting together a small home decor project, I love to customize things to make them unique. Here are 10 of my favorite DIY projects that we’ve made. They range in difficulty from easy to medium and with the right tools and basic DIY knowledge, anyone can make them!

This hammock stand is the most popular DIY project on my blog right now. We made this a few years ago and have been loving it ever since. If you don’t have any trees in your yard to hang a hammock, this is the perfect solution and it will only cost you about $40.00. Way cheaper than what you’d pay in the store.
I just love the bay window curtain rod that we made. We live in a rental right now and I didn’t want to spend a fortune on custom bay window curtain rods that probably wouldn’t work in a new house when we move. This option was so cheap ($10) and is easily customizable to any size bay window.
Lately, I’m in love with all X-brace furniture. So we tried our hand at building this side table. This project definitely takes a bit more time and skill than the other projects on this list but is easily do-able in a weekend.
You can always use extra storage in the kitchen, right? This pegboard organizer was my way of bringing style and function into our kitchen. I love the bright pop of turquoise and how you can easily switch up the pegs if you need to add more utensils. You can customize this an any color to match your kitchen. It would be perfect for craft room too.
Our screened-in porch is probably my favorite room in the house. To dress is up a bit, I added these drop cloth porch curtains. The drop cloth panels were about $10 each. And I’ve got a secret way to hand them without damaging your porch!
My kids love to record all the birds that they see. We have a running list on the fridge of all the different types that have visited our yard. This bird bath is the perfect addition to our garden. The birds get a bath and the kids get to add more species to the list.
Storing bikes is a hassle. They are bulky and take up a lot of room. You can hang them in the garage but I needed a solution so the kids could easily wheel their bikes in and out of the garage without my help. This project cost us next to nothing to make and the kids have access to their bikes whenever the want.
This may have been one of my favorite projects to date. I’m a big fan of aqua and the blue mason jars were the perfect addition to our dining area. If you have a builder-grade chandelier that needs an update, this project is for you.
I like the look of roman shades but I am not very good at sewing. This project is no-sew and you can get a high end look in about 5 minutes.
My son has tons of books but so many of them get lost on regular bookshelves. It’s too hard for him to see which book is which if the spines are facing out. That’s why I love bookshelves where you can place the books flat. He can see the book covers easily and we rotate the books every now and then since he has so many.
I hope that this list gets you started on some DIY projects. Once you start making them, you won’t be able to stop! Save money, DIY-it and get a custom look that no one else has!
