Have you seen those big beautiful letters covered in flowers?  I swoon over them.  I want them. All of them.  But I don’t want the price tag that they come with. Cuz flowers ain’t cheap. So I had to figure out a way to get the look. And I came up with this bright and fun party decoration.

This tissue paper party decoration looks like real flowers but is sooo much cheaper to make!

Cardboard letters – I got mine from Hobby Lobby but you can find similar letters here.
Tissue paper – from the Dollar Store
Acrylic paint to match your tissue paper
Paint brush
Glue gun

DIRECTIONS

1.  Tear the tissue paper into small pieces and crumple them up.

2. Using your acrylic paint, cover the edges and one side of the cardboard letters. I found that one coat covered pretty well.

3. After the paint is dry, use the hot glue gun to glue the tissue paper onto the side of the letters without paint.

This party decoration is super affordable – about $15.  The cardboard letters were approximately $2.99 each.  I originally wanted to use bigger letters but the big ones were $9.99 each and I just wasn’t up to paying over $30 for this decoration.

The tissue paper was from 1 pack at the dollar store. I had the paint on hand but you can get it here. I LOVE the look of this decoration.  It’s perfect for a Spring themed party but can you guess what I’m using it for?

It’s bright, fun and  will last waaaay longer than fresh flowers.
