I don’t decorate a whole lot for Halloween.  I’m more of a Fall decorating kind of person.  But this year I just couldn’t resist a little goulish decor so I decided to make a Spooky Halloween Wreath for my front door.

The wreaths that I make are simple.  That’s why I love using what I call “picks”. I’m not sure if that is the correct term but that’s what I’m going with. They are little decorations that you just stick into the wreath.  I chose to go with bright and glittery picks to really contrast with the black wreath. I also picked up some coordinating orange glittery ribbon because you can never have too much glitter.

To make the wreath, I simply stuck the picks into the wreath and secured them by placing them through the wreath wires.  It’s a bit hard to see because most everything is black but here is a closeup of one of the picks that is wooden.

If you have not made a wreath like this before, it will make sense once you purchase these items.  For the witches shoe, I had to cut off a bit of the pick in order for it to be at the height that I wanted it to be.  I really love the touch that the shoe gives the wreath.

I tied the ribbon around the top and hung my Spooky Halloween Wreath up.  I can’t really get much easier. Here it is on my front door.

  1. I like the Fall decor better as well & it lasts from Sept- to the end of Nov. But your Halloween Wreath is Cute, Modern & Colorful! Good Job! I’ve always loved Purple.
