If you haven’t noticed, this is not the usual Fabulous Friday post.  I have decided to take a break from the link party for a while.  I may bring it back, I may not.  Thanks to all who have linked up over the past year.  I have enjoyed hosting it and love looking at all your projects but I have decided to focus my time on other things on the blog right now.

On to today’s project…

It’s the last mantel of the year and it’s one of my favorites.  I have had the vision for this mantel for an entire year.

I love everything about it.  It’s simple and elegant and screams Christmas.  The centerpiece of the mantel is my Felt Wreath {tutorial coming soon!} on the window.  I wanted to make this wreath last year but it takes a little time and I didn’t have time to do it before Christmas.  I pinned the tutorial and made it a priority to get it done this year. I hung the wreath with fishing line and hooked it over a 3M hook attached to the back of the window frame.

I don’t remember where I got the trees.  Probably Tar-jay.  They look like colored mercury glass.  The stockings were my splurge last year from Pottery Barn.

The garland is actually non-lighted and the lights are my icicle lights that never seem to make it up outside.  It is much easier to put them on the mantel than to get up on a ladder and mess with them on the roof.  Our house has these really high peaks and let’s just say climbing up there is just not happening.

The display on the hearth is from the Christmas sale at Hobby Lobby.  Am I the only one that can’t walk out of that store without spending at least 50 bucks? Luckily I got this stuff far half off. I used a hurricane vase from the dollar store  with some red, green, silver, and white ornaments for filler.

I like the night pictures of this mantel way better than the pictures I took during the day.

This looks so cozy, Santa isn’t gonna want to leave!
