I’m tired of paying for items that are used once and thrown on the trash. TIRED of it. Aren’t you? The environmental scientist in me also feels very guilty. But alas, items like dryer sheets are a necessity if you don’t want to end up with your husband’s socks sticking to your rear end. But let’s try to make them a little more eco-friendly okay? That’s why I made some Reusable Dryer Sheets the other day. They are FANTASTIC! Cheap, non-toxic and so much better for the environment. Go me!
Here’s is how to make reusable dryer sheets. Seriously, SO EASY. You’ll totally thank me (I’ll take chocolate bars delivered to my door, by the way)
WHAT YOU NEED FOR REUSABLE DRYER SHEETS
The following list contains affiliate links that will take you to the supplies needed.
1 pack reusable wipes
12 oz. bottle hair conditioner (I used Suave)
1.5 cups white vinegar
3 cups warm water
Essential oil (optional)
Small glass jar with airtight lid (I found mine at the dollar store)
Mix together the hair conditioner and white vinegar. The conditioner does not need to be scented. The scent that I used was ocean breeze but honestly, the clothes don’t smell ocean breezy when I use the dryer sheets. Just being honest. If you want to add some scent, I would suggest a few drops of essential oil. My favorite is lavender.
Cut your wipes into a size that will fit in your jar. This is the size I cut mine to.
Arrange your wipes into your glass jar, leaving a hole in the middle. Pour three teaspoons of your fabric softener mixture into the center. Add 1 cup water
Put the lid on the jar and swish around a bit to make sure the cloths are saturated. That’s it! Toss one in your dryer with a load for static free clothes and no embarrassing sock-on-the-butt moments.
