Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a good holiday. Have you set any goals for this year? You know that you are more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down, don’t you? My goal is to run a 2:15 half marathon. To get me motivated, I created this hand lettering practice worksheet with one of my favorite phrases ” I can do hard things”.

Who thinks I’m crazy to be running 13.1 miles? I’ve done quite a few half marathons and 2 full marathons but I just keep getting slower and slower every time I run one. The last one that I ran my goal was just to finish. But after I finished, I knew I could have pushed myself a bit harder. I totally stayed in my comfort zone during that race and this time I want to get out of that comfort zone and really push my limits and see just how far my body can go.
So what does all this have to do with hand lettering? Practice practice practice. If you want to get good at anything, there is no magic solution. Just a lot of hard work and practice. Which is where my practice worksheet comes into play. Here’s a tip: print out the worksheet and then use tracing paper over top of it. Or place the worksheet on a light table with a blank piece of paper over it. Or you can just print out a bunch of the worksheets and write directly on them, which is what I do.

.As always, this printable is free for personal use only. They may not be sold or redistributed.

Just remember, practice, practice, practice and you’ll be crushing your goals in no time.
