Graduation Cap Water Bottles
College Graduation was last weekend here. I have no idea why they schedule it for the same weekend as Mother’s Day weekend…it makes traffic horrendous and almost impossible to get a restaurant reservation. But enough of my complaining. Graduation is a happy time. I feel like my kids will be graduating before I know it and I’ll be throwing Graduation parties instead of birthday parties. My son graduates from pre-K this year. Does that count? I’m not quite sure. So for all you parents who are celebrating in the next few weeks, here is an easy craft idea for your party…Graduation Cap Water Bottles.
These are easy to put together and will look great on your food table. Here is what you will need:
- Water bottle (16 – 20 oz.)
- Black cardstock
- Embroidery floss
- Scissors
- Hot glue
First, cut 1.5″x1.5″ squares of black cardstock.
Next, measure from the top of the water bottle down to the top of the bottom and cut a piece of embroidery floss to that length.
Fold the embroidery floss back and forth, forming loops and tie a knot at one end.
Hot glue the knotted end onto the black cardstock.
Glue the entire piece onto the water bottle lid. Cut through the loops at the bottom to form a “tassel”.
Print out these graduation waterbottle labels and wrap them around the bottles, securing them in the back with tape.
