We have a screened in back porch and I love relaxing out on it in warm weather. It is so much better than a deck because there are no bugs (except the occasional lizard that sneaks in) and it has a ceiling fan for a nice breeze. Porch decor sometimes gets neglected so here are some easy ways that you can style a porch using pops of color.

Choose a color scheme and go for it! I chose bright and bold colors in hues of yellow, green and blue. This color palette is perfect for summer! Choose whatever color scheme says “you” and reflects your individual style.

Use accent pieces in your chosen color scheme such as pillows that are easily interchangeable. If you are good with a sewing machine, you can make your own pillow covers that can be easily taken off if you want to switch up the color scheme or if you just want to throw them in the wash. Be sure to use outdoor fabric when making anything that will be used on your porch.

Use a bold and unexpected piece of furniture in your space such as this bright yellow table from Sauder. It is the perfect size for small accessories like a vase of flowers or for a pitcher of iced tea to share with friends.

Bring it all together with decorative items such as flowers, vases, or candles.
