Spring is here! FINALLY. I hope Mother Nature got my memo and has given Winter the boot. Time to Spring clean the house.  I’ve decided to start with removing all all the dirt and dust from my carpets, floors and crevices.

How to Spring clean your home

First, I needed to invest in a high quality vacuum. My old vacuum bit the big one recently and still didn’t work even after ordering replacement parts. So I picked up the Eureka AirSpeed All Floors at WalMart a few weeks ago and I’m so glad I did. I chose it based on price (under a hundred bucks) and the fact that it claims to clean better than a Dyson.

With the Eureka Airspeed All Floors,  I am able to switch between all my floor surfaces with the press of a button.

I really like that I can clean the hardwood floors in my front entryway without getting out a broom and dustpan. We store our shoes in baskets and the floor underneath them gets pretty dirty and gross after weeks of muddy crocs and soccer cleats getting thrown in there. But the dirt is no match for the Eureka AirSpeed All Floors.

Next, lets talk about carpets. We live in a rental. Unfortunately, the builder chose to put carpet in the dining room. I have no idea who thinks this is a good idea. It ranks right on up there with carpet in a bathroom. With two kids who seem to get more on the floor than in their mouths, a vacuum with powerful suction is key. And the Eureka AirSpeed All Floors definitely has powerful suction. I’m almost to the point where I don’t cringe when looking under the table after meals because I know my Eureka will take care of it.

Now let’s move on to cobwebs and the always present dust-filled blinds. The extension tools on the Eureka get this job DONE. I’m 5 feet tall. Ok, 4 foot 11 3/4 but I really prefer rounding up. My short self was able to clean these areas of the house like I was some kind of cleaning pro. I used  to clean the blinds with a soft cloth. It didn’t work out so well and it took FOREVER. With my new Eureka, this task is done in less than 5 minutes per blind.

Switching between floors and tools is easy.  All you have to do is turn the knob.

After vacuuming my entire house, this is how much dirt the Eureka AirSpeed All Floors picked up.  Yay for powerful suction but maybe I really should vacuum my house more. What do you think? I vote yes.

  1. Hi Kelly! I’m a professional cleaner and I vacuum carpets every day. I use professional vacuum cleaners and steam cleaning machines that are pretty big. For some time now I was thinking that I need to get a very good vacuum cleaner for home, because I don’t feel satisfied to clean with an ordinary vacuum cleaner any more! Thanks you for sharing the lovely review! I need something like Eureka, indeed! Greetings, Mila. londonhousecleaning.com
