I struggle every year with what to get my husband for Valentine’s Day.  He hits it out of the park in the gift department.  Me…not so much.  Last year he surprised my with a kid-free weekend. We had lunch at one of my favorite places, a horse drawn carriage ride through historic downtown Wilmington, NC, a massage and then dinner out at a restaurant overlooking the water with the best steak I have EVER eaten.  I just can’t compete with that.

But what I can do is make cute little crafts that incorporate some of his favorite things.

Favorite Drink:  Root Beer Float

Incorporating ice cream into a gift would be a bit tricky I think so I just stuck with the root beer.

I bought one of his favorite kinds of root beer and made the box a bit prettier.
SUPPLIES
6 pack of Root Beer (or any other soda)
Valentine scrapbook paper
Cardstock {white and colored}
Scissors
Double sided tape
Avery labels

Make a tracing of each side of the box and both sides of the handle onto your scrapbook paper.

Cut out the pieces and adhere them to the box with double sided tape.

Download the free labels that I made, below {at the bottom of the post}.

Right click to save.  My printer is acting wonky and has currently decided to print red as bright pink.  That is why there is a color difference between my graphics below and my photographs.  Your labels will be the color that they are shown, below.

For the bottle labels, simply print out on white cardstock, cut and wrap around bottle. Secure with tape.
For the label below, print out on an Avery full sheet label. Set your print size to 5×7.

ENJOY!

  2. I so love this idea! I may do it for my husband. 🙂 Funny thing, I do that kind of stuff every year but he never notices. I stuck a homemade label on an apple one year and he just removed it and ate the apple. ???!!!
